Description

IKEA Austria and the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK invited designers, artists and creatives to reinterpret the iconic blue FRAKTA bag through the open call “FRAKTA – More Than a Bag.”

The winning proposal by Lisa Stolz and Juan Vértiz, selected from more than 100 submissions, reimagines FRAKTA as a modular system for organising everyday life. The project explores how objects find their place, remain, or move through our spaces, transforming the familiar shopping bag from a simple container into a flexible spatial element.

STAPLA translates the principles of modularity, accessibility and adaptability into an immersive installation, demonstrating how an everyday object can be reinterpreted to create new relationships between objects, space and people.

The project is presented as part of the 20th VIENNA DESIGN WEEK in IKEA Austria’s exhibition at the festival headquarters in Vienna.
