Description

Aalto LAB Mexico is an interdisciplinary and intercultural design initiative that explores social and environmental sustainability through long-term collaboration with the community of 20 de Noviembre in Campeche, Mexico. As a member of the project since its inception, my work has contributed to a design process grounded in participation, local knowledge, and continuous exchange.

Rather than approaching the community through predefined solutions, the project developed design proposals directly alongside its residents, allowing ideas to emerge from shared experiences, observations, and dialogue. Over time, both the initiatives and the structure of the laboratory evolved in response to changing needs and collective learning.

By positioning design as an ongoing process rather than a finished outcome, Aalto LAB Mexico demonstrates how long-term collaboration can strengthen relationships between people, place, and the environments they inhabit.
